What is Cash Ahead?
Cash Ahead is a no-fee, no-recourse loan that gives you a short-term cash boost between paychecks. You can access funds instantly (with a small fee) or wait a few days for free.
Most first-time users qualify for $25–$50, with higher limits available over time — up to $500!
You can only have one active loan at a time. Once it’s repaid, you can request another.

How to access Cash Ahead
Go to the Card tab.
Tap Cash Ahead.
Select your amount.
Choose delivery speed (can’t be changed later):
Instant: $4.99 fee — funds arrive immediately.
Standard: Free — funds arrive in about 3 business days.
Review the details and tap Confirm.
How to Make a Payment
Atlas will automatically deduct your advance amount (plus any fee) from your next paycheck.
You can also repay manually:
Go to the Card tab
Tap Cash Ahead.
Check your balance and tap Make a Payment
Choose a payment method:
Connected bank account: Processes in up to 3 business days
Atlas checking account: Instant payment
Enter the amount (minimum $5)
Tap Make Payment
Important:
Debit card repayments are not supported.
You must repay your existing loan before borrowing again.
Fees (if any) are added during repayment—not upfront
Example: If you borrow $25 with a $5 instant-access fee, we’ll send $25 to your account and you’ll repay $30 total ($25 + $5 fee).
Monitor Your Cash Ahead
You can check your Cash Ahead status anytime from the Card tab in the Atlas app.
There, you’ll be able to see:
Available Cash Ahead balance — The amount you’re currently eligible to borrow.
In Transit — Funds that have been approved and are on the way to your account.
Pending Repayment — Any Cash Ahead balance that is still due.
This makes it easy to track your advance, confirm when funds are arriving, and see what’s left to repay—all in one place.
Smart Pay and Cash Ahead
When Cash Ahead is active, Smart Pay pauses automatically for up to 14 days. It resumes once the loan is fully repaid.
Are there late fees or penalties?
No. Cash Ahead is a no-recourse loan, which means there are no late fees or penalties.

Q: Who’s eligible for Cash Ahead?
A: Eligibility depends on your account activity and deposit history. If you’re eligible, you’ll see the Cash Ahead option in your app.
Q: Can I repay my Cash Ahead balance manually?
A: Yes. You can repay it early using your Atlas checking account or ACH transfer from your bank account.
Q: When can I take another loan?
A: Once your current Cash Ahead loan is fully repaid, you can take another one right away.
Q: What if I don’t repay my Cash Ahead loan?
A: Since Cash Ahead is a no-recourse loan, there are no late fees or collections. However, you’ll need to repay your existing loan before using Cash Ahead again.
